From first glance; && at ONLY 12 bucks – this palette looks pretty amazing.
But looks can be deceiving. I am so disappointed in this palette.
Hell; I’m disappointed in Lorac Cosmetics for this one.

I have raved && raved about my Lorac Pro palette. In fact, I named it my {best} palette in my Best of 2012 Post || Here||… I still absolutely adore my Lorac Pro palette && use it almost every day. The shadows are amazing. They are pigmented, creamy, and have little to no fallout. They aren’t powdery at all.

These shadows are extremely powdery. They swatch pretty decently; but once I went to put them on my eyes – they just didn’t work. The pigmentation just disappeared. Perhaps, if I wanted a really light look for the day. It’s just NOTwhat I expect from Lorac shadows. Maybe my hopes were too high to assume that they would make all of their shadows in the same way.

Actually – I looked into this. I looked at the ingredients.

From Ulta’s website:

Eye Shadow 5: Talc, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Magnesium Stearate, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Methicone, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Tocopheryl Acetate, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Glycerin, Maltodextrin, Water, Phenoxyethanol, MAY CONTAIN: Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77499, CI 77492, CI 77491).

Okay: so maybe this looks like a whole bunch of gibberish – to me too. But there is one thing I can and DO notice. All of the Lorac Pro shadows were made the same way, however in this palette they were made differently. If you glance at the ingredients, none of them are the same. Surely, if they could have made ALL of the Pro Palette shadows in one way – they could have made these the same right?

I’m not a makeup {chef?} by any means – but come on. Really? They aren’t even similar. I’m not imagining this. Maybe I expected too much? I don’t know – but to me these are no better than certain drug store shadows. They shouldn’t have the name Lorac on them && it kind of pisses me off actually.

I’ll stick to my Pro Palette && next time check out the ingredients before I buy any more Lorac shadows.

Have you purchased this palette? What are your thoughts?!
